Winter Rush – 2nd Week

Hello!  My name is Eric LaBerge, and I am the Rush Chair for the Winter semester. You can think of me as your go-to guy for any information or help with regards to joining Theta Tau.

Our recruitment season, commonly referred to as “Rush” has started, and will be in effect until February 5th. During this Rush Period, we will be holding several events related to brotherhood, community service, and professionalism. If you are interested in joining our organization, then attending these events and getting to know some of the brothers is the first step in pledging Theta Tau. By coming to these events and making your interest known, you become eligible to receive a bid to pledge our fraternity at the end of the Rush season.

Below are a few of the current and upcoming events we will be holding within the next week. If you aren’t able to make it to any of them, no worries! These first few events are just the start of the Rush Season, and you’ll still have plenty of time to get involved.

January 19th, Game Night, in the basement of the Student Center, 7-10PM

January 20th, Trivia Night, Circa 1890 Saloon, 9-11PM

January 21st, Bake Sale, Wayne State College of Engineering, 10AM-2PM

January 22nd, Wizard Bash, Theta Tau House, 10PM-2AM

That’ll be it for the next few days!

Have a great rest of the week and we hope to see you at our events!

A Great Start to 2016

With the beginning of winter semester upon us the active members of the chapter just wanted to let everyone know what has been happening lately. We have just transitioned our executive board so we have: Nick Bely as Regent, Tony Kurcz as Vice Regent, Harrison Oliver as Corresponding Secretary. We will have Justin Isrow carrying on as Treasurer and Maxwell Eiswerth carrying on as Scribe.

We would like to recognize our newest members: Alex Rogowski who was initiated this summer as well as Kyle Miller, Jaclyn VanGilder, Michael Toma, Adrian Ionascu, and Zachary Winters who were initiated at the end of the fall semester.

Epsilon Beta chapter has also been working on a housing restoration project. We have been given an opportunity by Midtown Detroit Inc. to raise funds to restore the outside of our house to help keep up with the revitalization of the Midtown neighborhood. If you are interested in donating or spreading the information about donation please go to the Housing Restoration Project tab. Any help would be appreciated as we have just passed the halfway mark of our $30,000 goal!

We would also like to remind everybody to look out for updates on the Winter 2016 rush. There will be a post up about that soon and please look out for our rush calendar; all of the events should be a lot of fun!

Summer is here!

A few updates since the last post. We initiated five new members, bringing the total number of brothers in this chapter to 515! Congratulations to all of them for making it in! We also elected a new executive board. If you want to see who was elected, just head over to the officer page. Congratulations to all of them! The Second Annual Manhood Mosey was a great success. We raised over $500 for the Sean Kimerling Testicular Cancer Foundation. Thank you to everybody who participated and to those who helped make that event happen. Summer rush is well underway. We are going to have a barbeque in front of the College of Engineering on Wednesday, June 4th, at 5:00 p.m. Anybody who is interested in the fraternity should come. You can meet the brothers and eat some delicious food. I hope the summer is great for everyone!
